The Ball State Cardinals look for a road win at the Buffalo Bulls in week seven college football.
The Ball State Cardinals were not given much of a chance to defeat Central Michigan on the road as 12.5 point underdogs but they gave the Chippewas all they could handle falling 24-21. The Cardinals were outgained 426-340 so a pair of turnovers were killers. Ball State quarterback Riley Neal completed 18-30 for 184 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions including a pick six with top target KeVonn Mabon recording eight receptions for 56 yards in a short passing attack. Ball State was better on the ground with James Gilbert totaling 141 yards on 27 carries with one yard and 13 yard scoring runs.

The Buffalo Bulls as three point home dogs to Kent State seemed a bit out of place but a 44-20 loss to the Golden Flashes says the spread should have been larger. UB trailed 20-3 heading to the locker room and were never able to regroup as they lost the battle for yardage 430-272 and were unable to run the ball with Tyree Jackson’s 40 rushing yards being the ground game. Jackson gave the Bulls a viable passing attack by completing 20-39 for 250 yards and a touchdown but that still fell short. Marcus McGill and Malcolm Robinson were the Bulls top receivers with four receptions apiece for a combined 117 yards but UB needed to stretch the field more.
The under is 5-0 in Ball State last 5 games in October and Ball State are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a losing home record while the under is 6-1 in Ball State last 7 conference games. Buffalo are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games and the over is 4-0 in Buffalo last 4 conference games while going 7-1 in Buffalo last 8 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game. The over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and the road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
Right now I’m going with Ball State as Buffalo seems to really miss some talent from last season but I want to see if there are injuries…
