The Pittsburgh Panthers invade Scott Stadium to take the field with the Virginia Cavaliers.
The Pittsburgh Panthers have been riding their offense with great success in 2016 and that trend continued in a 37-34 victory versus visiting Georgia Tech in week six to up their record to 4-2. The Panthers held a 407-371 yardage edge but the Yellow Jackets scored on a kick return. Pitt quarterback Nathan Peterman completed 14-20 for 192 yards and a touchdown with Scott Orndoff hauling in a 74 scoring strike. James Conner and Chawntez Moss combined for 105 yards on 22 carries as the Yellow Jackets were a bit stronger on the ground with the Panthers being better in the air.

The Virginia Cavaliers had dropped three in a row but have since won consecutive contests after downing Duke 34-20 on the road. The Cavaliers were outgained 430-416 and forced a whopping six turnovers while scoring on a fumble recovery late in the 4th to seal the win. The Cavs rushing attack consisted of a combined 104 yards from Taquan Mizzel and Albert Reid but the air was where the offense did their damage. UVA quarterback Kurt Benkert completed 22-41 for 336 yards and three touchdowns with an interception while David Eldridge recording a pair of receptions for 112 yards including a 28 yards score.
Pittsburgh are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up win and the over is 5-0 in Pittsburgh last 5 games overall while going 4-0 in Pittsburgh last 4 games on grass. The under is 4-0 in Virginia last 4 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and Virginia are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 conference games while Virginia are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. The favorite is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings and the home team is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
Not a whole lot for me to say here except the small number with the Panthers is enticing as I believe the Cavaliers are a year or two away…
