The Texas Tech Red Raiders visit the TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 college football.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders still have a shot at going to a college football Bowl but they have to improve upon their 3-4 record. The Red Raiders were looking good but have now lost three straight following a 66-59 loss to visiting Oklahoma where each team totaled 854 yards and combined for 75 first downs. TT quarterback Patrick Mahomes II threw for 754 yards and five touchdowns and an interception with Keke Coutee and Jonathan Giles recorded ten receptions apiece for 339 yards and three scores. Mahomes was the only runner of note with 85 rushing yards with a pair of touchdowns on 12 totes.

USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Christian Horned Frogs were thought to be a factor in the Big  12 football but they were a bit of an unknown. The Horned Frogs come off a 34-10 defeat at West Virginia as a 5.5 point underdog with the Mountaineers holding a 389-300 yardage advantage with three forced turnovers. Horned Frogs quarterback Kenny Hill connected on 18-31 for 148 yards and a touchdown and interception with nine receivers catching passes in a short air attack. The Horned Frogs did have some ability to run the ball behind 103 yards from Kyle Hicks but everything the offense did was of a short nature.

The over is 10-1 in Texas Tech last 11 vs. a team with a winning record and Texas Tech are 1-6 ATS vs. a team with a winning record while Texas Tech are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 conference games. TCU are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 conference games and TCU are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games while TCU are 0-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The home team is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.

I think Texas Tech doesn't play a lick of defense but they sure do know how to score and they should do enough scoring to stay within the number…
