Down at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium on Saturday, November 12, we’ve got a nice Week 11 ACC college football matchup between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Louisville Cardinals.

Wake Forest enters play here with a 6-3 record on the season, and the Deacons were able to post a 27-20 win over Virginia this past Saturday in their most recent outing. During that matchup, Wake Forest QB John Wolford helped the team rally with 9-of-10 passing for 83 yards and a TD through the air, and 16 carries for 94 yards and a score on the ground to lead the Demon Deacons. Cade Carney also had 87 rushing yards on 23 attempts in a strong ground performance for Wake Forest.

So far this season, Wolford is 127-of-225 for 1313 yards and a 5:7 TD:INT ratio, while Matt Colburn is still tops in rushing for Wake Forest with 109 carries for 463 yards and one TD. Jabari Hines is the Demon Deacons’ lead receiver with his 30 catches for 367 yards and two scores.

As for Louisville, they’re coming into this game with an 8-1 record so far, and clobbered Boston College 52-7 this past Saturday. In that one, Louisville QB Lamar Jackson was his usual dynamic self with 12-of-17 passing for 231 yards and four touchdowns through the air, and a team-high 185 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Jaylen Smith got in on the Cardinals’ action as well with six catches for 123 yards and a TD.

On the year thus far, Jackson is rolling with a 170-of-288 line for 2753 yards and 26 touchdowns, also leading Louisville in rushing with 1181 yards and 19 touchdowns on 162 attempts. James Quick is the Cardinals’ lead receiver this year with 35 catches for 601 yards and six touchdowns of his own.

Wake Forest is 5-1 ATS in their last six road games versus a team with a winning home record, and 5-1 ATS in their last six road games. Wake Forest is also 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games, and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win.

Meanwhile, Louisville is 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games on field turf, and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. Louisville is also 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record, and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win.

Given his stellar play this year, I’m not picking against Jackson unless the line is flat-out silly. In the last three games, Louisville has put up a whopping 138 points, and has held opponents to 14 points or fewer in three of their last four. Wake Forest—and nearly every other team in the country—can’t stand up to that kind of offensive onslaught in any realistic scenario, so I’ll take Jackson and the Cardinals to continue to roll here.
