The New Mexico State Aggies collide with the Hawaii Warriors with both teams in search of an early season win.
After opening the year with a loss to Western Michigan, New Mexico State rebounded to take out their frustration on Tennessee State in a 70-55 rout. The Aggies received stellar performances on both ends of the floor by holding the Tigers to only 38% shooting while connecting at 46.8% themselves. The Aggies stumbled a bit with 16 turnovers but made up for it with a whopping +22 on the backboards and a 22-10 margin at the foul line. New Mexico State had four players crack DD in scoring with Daniel Mullings tossing in 16 points followed by DK Eldridge with 14 points while Tshilidzi Nephawe and Sim Bhullar combined for 23 points and 19 rebounds.

Hawaii has looked good to kick off the year with consecutive double digit victories following a 78-68 decision over Western Michigan. The Warriors held the Broncos to 43% accuracy while connecting at 45% with six more shots and a few more makes at the charity stripe making the difference. I thought the Broncos would be able to hold their own on the glass but UH mustered a 32-21 advantage and received more balanced scoring from their eight man rotation. Christian Standhardinger and Keith Shanbuger each scored 17 points and combined for nine pulls while Isaac Fortu added 14 points and hauled down ten rebounds followed by a 13 point effort from Quincy Smith who was 4-4 from the floor.
The line isn't out for this one with a 5 AM start Tuesday EST but I would expect a small spread with Hawaii favored. Please check back when a line is released.
