The Princeton Tigers will travel to play the Rider Broncs in the season opener for both of these teams.
The Rider Broncs were 21-12 and finished second in the regular season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Teddy Okereafor and Jimmie Taylor are the returning stars for Rider. Okereafor averaged 11.4 points per game, 4 assists per game, and 4.6 rebounds per game for Rider. Jimmie Taylor averaged 10.5 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game for Rider. These two players will look to have another good year for the Broncs and have been named as preseason All-Conference players. Rider has some good senior leadership that has the experience needed to make another run at the MAAC championship.

The Princeton Tigers were 16-14 last season and finished third in the Ivy League Conference. Princeton is returning their top 4 players from last season: Spencer Weisz (11.6 points per game, 2.6 assists per game, 4.9 rebounds per game), Hans Brase (11.5 ppg, 2.1 apg, and 7.5 rpg), Steven Cook (10.4 ppg and 3.4 rpg), and Amir Bell (8.8 ppg, 2.6 apg, 3.0 rpg). As you can see, Princeton has a good chunk of their team back and will be one of the more experienced teams in the Ivy League. As a result, Princeton is one of the favorites to knock off Harvard in the Ivy league this season.
Princeton finished last season 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. Princeton is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against teams in the MAAC. The over is 8-1 in Princeton’s last 9 games against teams in the MAAC. Rider is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Friday games. The over is 4-0 in Rider’s last 4 games against teams in the Ivy League. The home team is 4-1 ATS in theses two teams last 5 meetings.
Princeton is geared up for another good season and with the experience that they are returning, I think they are going to beat Rider pretty easily. This will be an interesting matchup with both teams having experience, but I am picking Princeton in this one.
