Boston College Eagles vs. Toledo Rockets Pick-Odds-Prediction - 11/14/13Mark's Free College Basketball Pick Against the Spread
Boston College looks to break in to the win column for the first time versus Toledo.
The Toledo Rockets are sure to get tested by the Boston College Eagles in Thursday action.
Toledo has been listed as one of the preseason favorites for the West Division of the MAC so we shall see if that's true or not soon enough. A 102-55 destruction of Northwest Ohio didn't tell us a thing and probably was little more then a work out for the Rockets who dominated the boxscore from top to bottom. Toledo blitzed the Racers with with nearly 63% shooting while allowing only 33% while forcing 21 turnovers and owning the boards 40-24. Six Rockets broke the ten point barrier Rian Pearson led the fireworks with 19 points with Jonathan Williams and Justin Drummond adding 15 and 14 points while JD Weatherspoon, Julius Brown and Zach Garber combined for 36 points.
Boston College is pegged for improvement in the ACC but have gotten off to an 0-2 start with their defense struggling to get stops. The Eagles played Massachusets tough with a four point lead at the break turning in to 86-73 defeat with the Minutemen turning up the intensity over the final 20 minutes. While UMass connected at 49% from the field the Eagles checked in at 44% but the Minutemen used 18 offensive pulls to total ten more looks at the basket when BC needed them. Ryan Anderson led the Boston College attack with 22 points and seven rebounds with Olivier Hanlan close behind with 19 points while Patrick Heckmann and Alex Dragicevich contributed eleven and eight points respectively.
If Toledo is viewed as one of the best teams in the MAC West they should at least be reasonably competitive with Boston College so I'll back the points...
