The San Diego State Aztecs host the Arizona Wildcats in Thursday Night college basketball action.
The San Diego State Aztecs got their season off on the right foot as they spent last Friday giving UC Riverside and old-fashioned beat down. SDSU was up by 25 at the half and despite emptying the bench they extended the lead for a 36-point win. Xavier Thames led San Diego State with 15 points and four steals. Josh Davis had 11 points and eight rebounds, Winston Shepard had 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and J.J. O’Brien had nine points and five rebounds. SDSU shot 41.8 percent from the floor, 30.8 percent from 3-point land, and 73 percent from the free throw line.

The Arizona Wildcats look to be one of the top teams in the nation storming to a 2-0 record and ranked in the top 10. Arizona started the season knocking off Cal Poly SLO by 11 point and then they waxed Long Beach State by 34. Brandon Ashley is averaging 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds and Aaron Gordon is averaging 13.5 points and 10 rebounds. Gabe York is averaging 13 points and 4.5 rebounds, Nick Johnson is averaging 12.5 points, and Kaleb Trczewski is averaging 10 points and 5.0 rebounds. Arizona is averaging 82 points per game and they are shooting 58 percent, 42.9 percent from beyond the three-point arc, and 60 percent from the free throw line.
San Diego State is 5-0 against the spread against the Pac-12, 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 non-conference games, and 0-5-1 against the spread in their last six games following a win. Arizona is 4-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 4-1 against the spread following a win, and 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games.
This one should be a war and the line indicates just how close the odds makers and the public expect it to be and it would seem easy to jump on the highly ranked team laying next to nothing, I am going to roll with the home team and what should be a nice home court advantage.
