The Georgia Bulldogs and Davidson Wildcats square off in a first ever meeting on Thursday evening.
Georgia opened the year on a high note by romping past Wofford but found the going much tougher in a 90-81 defeat at the hands of instate rival Georgia Tech. A five point deficit after 20 minutes proved to be too much with the Yellow Jackets never letting UGA go on any run. Both teams connected at around 39% from the field but the Jackets made five more free throws and mustered seven more shots which was critical despite poor shooting. Charles Mann paced Georgia on the scoreboard with a game high 24 points and seven turnovers with Kenny Gaines adding 13 points and six yanks while duo of Nemanja Djurisic and Cameron Forte tossed in 17 points and totaled nine boards.

Davidson lost a ton of talent off of last season's SoCon championship squad but many believed the remaining talent and a few new faces would be enough to make a run at another conference crown. Following a 70-57 loss to ranked Virginia the Wildcats fell to 0-3 and are looking for a win and not worrying about the league title. The defense let a two point half time hole get away with the defense first Cavaliers going off for 41 points over the final 20 minutes. The Cavs blistered the nets with 52% shooting while Davidson struggled to get shots to fall with 30% accuracy. That was the key to the game with the SoCon squad totaling 14 more shots but not getting them to fall. De'Mon Brooks, Brian Sullivan and Tyler Kalinoski each scored 13 points with Kalinoski hauling in eleven rebounds.
Davidson certainly hasn't looked like a team that is supposed to be one of the best in the SoCon. I don't pick Davidson games well to begin with but if they are as advertised then there is no reason for a poor performance...
