The Michigan State Spartans and the Oklahoma Sooners face off on Saturday Night in Brooklyn in college basketball action.

The Michigan State Spartans are off to a 5-0 start and they had no problem with Virginia Tech on Friday. Michigan State led by 13 points at the half and by the time it was over they won by 19 points. Adreian Payne had another monster game scoring 29 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to pace the Spartans. Gary Harris had 19 points and 5 assists, Keith Appling had 13 points and 7 assists, and Branden Dawson had 12 points and 10 rebounds. Michigan State shot 50.7 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the 3-point arc, and won the battle of the boards. While it is too early for anything to be decided Michigan State is a worthy ranked number one team.

The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a perfect 4-0 start and while it wasn’t a dominating win it was a win as they edged Seton Hall on Friday. Oklahoma led by three at halftime and in the end they held on by a point for the win. Cameron Clark has 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the Sooners. Isaiah Cousins had 19 points, Buddy Hield had 13 points, Jordan Woodward had 12 points, and Ryan Spangler had 10 rebounds. Oklahoma shot 52.7 percent but just 30 percent from beyond the three-point arc and barely won the rebound battle. Oklahoma will need a perfect performance f they hope to leave Brooklyn unbeaten.

Michigan State is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five neutral site games, 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games, and 2-7-2 against the spread following a win. Oklahoma is 4-1 against the spread against the Big Ten, 1-5 against the spread in their last six games, and 0-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record.

This is a big number for the Spartans against a team who can rebound well but this could be a special Michigan State team and I have to give them the nod here in what is just a lean.
