The Line: Houston Cougars -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

TV: ESPN2

The Stanford Cardinal and the Houston Cougars face off on Monday in Brooklyn in college basketball action.

The Stanford Cardinal are off to a 4-1 start to the season and have bounced back form their loss to BYU with three wins. With the Pac-12 looking tough this season and a brutal out of conference schedule the Cardinal will be tested often this season. Chasson Randle is averaging 21.8 points and 4.2 rebounds t to lead Stanford. Anthony Brown is averaging 15.4 points and 6.2 rebounds, Dwight Powell is averaging 14.4 points and 7.6 rebounds, and Josh Huestis is averaging 11.2 points and 7.8 rebounds. Stanford is averaging 81.8 points and they are shooting 47.3 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 65 points and their opponents are shooting 42.9 percent.

Houston Cougars vs. Stanford Cardinal Pick, Odds, Prediction 11/25/13

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Cougars are off to a 5-0 start to their season but the competition thus far has been fairly light. The Cougars have played the 340th ranked schedule but they have played solid defense making their opponents work for whatever they get. TaShawn Thomas has led the way averaging 16.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game. Danuel House is averaging 17.8 points and 6.2 rebounds, L.J. Rose is averaging 11.3 points and 5.3 assists, and Jherrod Stiggers is averaging 10.4 points. Houston is averaging 77.6 points and they are shooting 49.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 65 points and their opponents shoot 39.7 percent.

Stanford is 7-3-1 against the spread in their last 11 neutral site games, 2-5 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games, and 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Houston is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six neutral site games, and 0-4 against the spread against the Pac-12.

This is just way too many points to give to a team that plays defense as well as Houston does and my money is on the Cougars with the Points.
