The Minnesota Golden Gophers square off withe Chaminade Silverswords in the Maui Invitational.

Minnesota has had a good time in Hawaii except on the basketball court where they have gone 0-2. The Golden Gophers defense failed them in an 87-73 loss to Arkansas and now face the host team that likes to run and gun. Arkansas did a good job of filling the hole with 54.5% marksmanship while Minny sank shots at 45.5% which translated in to five more makes and was the deciding factor with most areas fairly close. Austin Hollins tossed in a game high 17 points with six pulls followed by a 15 point effort from Malik Smith while Andre Hollins and Deandre Mathieu added eleven points with Mathieu grabbing five boards and handing out six assists.

If you enjoy offense and plenty of up and down action then Chaminade fits the bill because these guys are in constant motion and love to put up threes. The problem with that pace when facing Gonzaga on Tuesday was the Bulldogs were able to run the floor and make threes as well. The Zags lit up the scoreboard in a 113-81 victory where they fired away at almost 70% including 13 makes from distance while the Silverswords responded with 42.6% accuracy with eight threes. Lee Bailey led the Chaminade attack with 29 points and five rebounds while Tyree Harrison tossed in ten points. Christophe Varidel who had 42 points in the opener managed eight points with Kuany Kuany and AJ Matthew also chipping in with eight.

The line is not out yet but it will likely be high once again but I'm inclined to continue riding the over once again the way the points and Chaminade go together...
