The Miami Hurricanes and George Washington Colonials clash in the opening round of the Wooden Legacy.
Miami lost their fair share of talent from a season ago so they could be going through some growing pains in 2013-14. I would say that was what we saw in their 63-58 loss to instate rival Central Florida where the offense struggled to put up points. The Hurricanes trailed 28-21 heading to the locker room and finished at 39% shooting with a 5-22 effort from distance partly to blame. UCF connected at 44% which translated in to a few more makes which was enough to emerge with the W. Garrius Adams pumped in a game high 20 polnts and grabbed eight boards but turned the ball over six times with Davon Reed adding 17 points and five yanks followed an eleven point, seven pull effort by Rion Brown.

George Washington is off to a 4-0 start but it's so early that I can't figure out if it's the schedule or they are just playing well. I can say their 94-50 rout of Delaware State didn't tell me much except the talent level is much higher. The Colonials essemtially ended this game from a competitive stand point with a 54-19 lead after 20 minutes behind blazing hot 60% marksmanship and stifling defense that allowed the Hornets to hit at only 33%. The Colonials held advantages throughout the boxscore with six double digit scorers led by Isaiah Armwood with 17 points and five pulls followed by Nick Griffin and his 14 points. Patricio Garino and Maurice Creek tossed in eleven points each while Kevin Larsen and Paris Maragkos chipped in with ten each.
