The UCLA Bruins and the Northwestern Wildcats face off on Friday in Las Vegas in college basketball action.
The UCLA Bruins are unbeaten and virtually untested this season winning all of their games in blowout fashion thus far this season. The Bruins had no problems with Nevada on Thursday beating the Wolfpack by 21. Jordan Adams leads UCLA averaging 22 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game. Zach LaVine is averaging 13.7 points, Norman Powell is averaging 12.8 points, and Kyle Anderson is averaging 12.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists. UCLA is averaging 90.2 points and they are shooting 54.4 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 66 points and their opponents are shooting 36.5 percent. UCLA is very much looking like one of the top teams in the nation, at least so far.

The Northwestern Wildcats are coming off of a loss on Thursday as they led Missouri at the half but were unable to hold on. Chris Collins has his work cut out at Northwestern and it doesn’t look like this is the year they finally break through to the NCAA Tournament. Drew Crawford leads the Wildcats averaging 14.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. JerShonn Cobb is averaging 14.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, Dave Sobolewski is averaging 10.6 points, and Tre Demps is averaging 8.9 points. Northwestern is averaging 69.9 points per game and they are shooting 45.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 64.4 points and their opponents are shooting 40.7 percent. Northwestern will need to play better than they did on Thursday if they hope to be competitive in this game.
UCLA is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall, 8-21 against the spread in their last 29 neutral site games, and 6-13 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread. Northwestern is 1-4 against the spread in their last five non-conference games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 8-3-1 against the spread in their last 12 Friday games.
The total is set at 143.5 and I am going with the over in this one.
