The Ohio State Buckeyes and the North Florida Ospreys face off on Friday in Columbus in college basketball action.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are undefeated and ranked sixth in the country as the play what looks to be another very winnable game. The Buckeyes Lost to Wichita State in the NCAA Tournament last season trying to get back to the Final Four and they are hoping to have a chance to get there this season. Lenzelle Smith Jr. is Ohio State’s leading score averaging 11.6 points and 4.6 rebounds. Shannon Scott is averaging 11.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 2 steals, Aaron Craft is averaging 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.8 steals, and Amir Williams is averaging 10 points and 8.6 rebounds. Ohio State is averaging 69.6 pointsand they are shooting 41.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 51.2 points and their opponents shoot 34.7 percent. Ohio State is clearly one of the top teams in the nation this year but it remains to be seen if they can overcome the problem they have had in recent years which is an overall lack of depth.

The North Florida Ospreys are 4-3 for the season but they have won their last three games in a row. Two of UNF’s wins are against Savannah State after playing a home and home with the Tigers. Travis Wallace leads the Ospreys averaging 13.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Dallas Moore averages 10.9 points, Beau Beech is averaging 10.4 points, and Jalen Nesbitt averages 7.0 points and 4.9 rebounds. North Florida averages 75.6 points per game and they are shooting 46.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 72.1 points and their opponents are shooting 44.3 percent. UNF has a tough road ahead with Michigan State and Indiana.
Ohio State is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games, 0-6 against the spread in their last six home games, and 1-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record. North Florida is 9-3 against the spread in their last 12 road games, 5-0 against the spread in their last five non-conference games, and 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games.
Ohio State is a gigantic favorite here and rightfully so and even as bad as the Buckeyes are against the spread I am going to lay the big points here.
