The Florida Gators are off to a 6-1 start and have rallied for five wins in a row since losing to Wisconsin. The Gators edged rival Florida State by a point in their last game and the schedule doesn’t get any easier facing Kansas and Memphis in their next two games after this one. Casey Prather is averaging 19.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game to lead UF. Michael Frazier II is averaging 14.4 points, Dorian Finney-Smith is averaging 11.8 points and 8.6 rebounds, and Patric Young is averaging 9.3 points and 5.0 rebounds. Florida is averaging 73.6 points and they are shooting 46.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 60.3 points and their opponents are averaging 40.1 percent.
UConn is 4-1 against the spread against the SEC, 6-2 against the spread in their last eight home games, and 5-2 against the spread following a win. Florida is 1-4 against the spread following a win, 0-4 against the spread in their last four road games, 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
These teams are almost mirror images of one another and that makes for close games but I like Florida’s inside game better and I will take the points with the Gators here.
