The San Diego State Aztecs head cross town to the Jenny Craig Pavilion where the San Diego Torreros await.
After knocking off Creighton and Marquette to win the Wooden Legacy, San Diego State has climbed to #24 in the national rankings which means they had better keep performing at a high level or make a quick exit from the polls. The Aztecs win over the Bluejays featured their ability to score and the 67-59 win over Marquette displayed their defense and grit in close games against quality opposition. The Aztecs hit shots at a 39% pace but held the Golden Eagles to 42% but dominated the perimeter where they hit 6-12 compared to Marquette's 1-11. Xavier Thames was the only player to reach DD in scoring for either team as he poured in 27 points followed by Josh Davis, Winston Shepard and Dakarai Allen with eight points each.

San Diego is off to their best start in recent memory thanks to a good mix of scoring and defense with a heavy dose of defending the shot. The Torreros saw their two game winning streak end in a 73-66 loss to New Mexico at The Pit which is a solid performance despite losing. The defense held the Lobos to 43% from the floor with their own shots falling at a 40% clip with a 9-5 edge on threes. UNM owned a +17 on the class and 26-7 advantage at the stripe which was just enough to win. The Torreros attack was led by Johnny Dee who poured in 25 points on 8-17 shooting with Duda Sanadze tossing in 18 while Jito Kok and Christopher Anderson combine for 16 points with Anderson dishing out 12 assists.
San Diego State wants to impress and move up the rankings while the Torreros would like nothing better then to throw a Monkey Wrench in to their neighbor's plans. If Thames out duels Dee the Aztecs can get this or the other way around...
