The Long Island Blackbirds head to the Prudential Center where they face the Seton Hall Pirates.
Long Island's claim to fame is actually a loss when they fell to Indiana by a point on the road because the season has been a rollercoaster with few positives in the early going. Plenty of scoring and not much defense has been the MO for this team with both beingjust enough to end a four game slide in beating Norfolk State 74-72. Both teams hit shots in the 47% range with LIU going 12-25 from distace and sinking a few more foul shots in an other wise even boxscore. All five starters scored in double figures with Gerrell Martin leading the way with 16 points followed by a 15 point, six pull effort by Landon Atterberry. EJ Reed was next in line with 13 points while Troy Joseph and Jason Brickman added 12 and ten points with Brickman posting 14 helpers.

If you take a quick glance at the numbers Seton Hall has posted you will probably not be able to tell whether this team is coming or going. A few good efforts mixed with a few bad ones with the loss of Patrik Auda and his 12 points and over five rebounds explaining some things. I don't have an answer for the Pirates 58-54 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson where the shots simply weren't falling. Seton Hall connected at 37.7% with the Knights responding with 43.5% and winning it on the strength of a 13-7 edge at the charity stripe. Fuquan Edwin led the Seton Hall offense with 16 points, five yanks and five steals with Brian Oliver adding 12 while Brandon Mobley chipped in with seven points and six rebounds.
Seton Hall is the better team but neither strike me as a team I want to put money on and the numbers say why. I'll take the points but don't like it...
