The Miami Redhawks travel to Evansville to play the Aces on Saturday.
Miami (OH) improved to 1-4 on the year after earning their first win over IPFW, 94-87, on Tuesday night. The Redhawks shot an impressive 55% from the field and 42% from three-point range, along with 80% from the free throw line. IPFW shot well from the field as well, but only shot 50% from the free throw line. Senior F Will Felder scored 26 points and junior G Will Sullivan scored added 23 points for the Redhawks, who came back from a 16-point halftime deficit to win its first game of the season. On the year, Felder is averaging a team-high 14 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Miami has been a terrible team all-around so far this season, but they looked like a different team in the second half of the game on Tuesday. If the Redhawks can carry some momentum over from that second half they will have a chance of beating Evansville on the road this weekend.

Evansville dropped to 5-3 on the year after losing to Murray State 65-63 on Wednesday night. The Aces shot 47% from the field, 28.6% from three-point range, and 61% from the charity stripe. Sophomore G D.J. Balentine led the squad with 25 points and 8 assists. Sophomore C Egidijus Mockevicius added 12 points and a team-high 7 rebounds in the loss. Evansville played well on the road and forced 10 turnovers in the first-half, but could not capitalize on all of Murray State’s miscues. On the year, Balentine is averaging an impressive 25.3 points per game while also dishing out 4 assists per contest. Mockevicius is averaging 8 points and a team-high 5.4 rebounds per contest this season. This will be the Aces fifth home game of the year; Evansville is a perfect 4-0 at home this season. Evansville has won three of the last four meetings between these two teams, including a 26-point win at Miami last season.
The Redhawks are a mess right now and it may take a few years for them to get back to being an elite team in the MAC. Meanwhile, Evansville has played great at home but they have just run into some solid competition over the past three games. I think the Aces bounce back and get the win and cover in this one.
