The Princeton Tigers travel to the Louis Brown Athletic Center to face the rival Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Although the Ivy League schedule has yet to begin Princeton is looking like one of the challengers behind a capable offense and above average defense. Both have played a part in a five game winning streak following a 77-55 decision over Fairleigh Dickinson. The Tigers broke open a competitive contest with a 41-27 second half run behind nealy 45% shooting while limiting the Knights to 37%. That was enough to win the game with Princeton holding an 11-3 edge from beyond the arc. Denton Koon paced the offense with 18 points and six pulls with Spencer Weisz adding 17 points and and ten boards while Will Barrett and Ben Hazel tossed in eleven points apiece and combined for eleven boards.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Princeton Tigers Pick-Odds-Prediction - 12/11/13

At this point in the season Rutgers needs a win to not only end a three game slide but to also build some much needed confidence. The Scarlet Knights fell to 4-6 following a 77-71 defeat at the hands of visiting Seton Hall. The team could use a boost in most areas but need their defense to step up the most which allowed 48% shooting to the Pirates although they forced 20 turnovers. Rutgers countered with 38.7% marksmanship which wasn't enough despite 14 more looks at the basket. Myles Mack led the Scarlet Knights with 20 points with Jerome Seagears adding 18 points while JJ Moore and Kadeem Jack netting 13 and ten points with Jack also grabbing eight rebounds. Moore was the only player to shoot 50% as shooting woes were a problem.

At this point Rutgers and Princeton are heading in opposite directions which doesn't mean it will continue that way but I think the hotter team is the way to go...

Princeton -2
