The Wyoming Cowboys make the trip to Magness Arena to square off with the Denver Pioneers.
Wyoming is off to a quick start which might surprise some of the experts who picked them to finish near the bottom of the Mountain West. The Cowboys upped their record to 7-2 after a 67-66 over South Dakota behind another strong defensive effort which has been a strength. The Cowboys held the Coyotes to a mere 35% from the floor while hitting at 44% which offset 15 more looks from South Dakota in a one point game. Larry Nance Jr. poured in a game high 25 points and hauled in nine rebounds followed a 12 point effort from Josh Adams while Riley Grabau and Derek Cooke Jr. combined for 17 points with Cooke grabbing a game high 14 boards.

Denver has yet to get going in the early going at 3-5 but might have gotten the win they needed in an 80-70 decision over Colorado State. The Pioneers have been competitive but the bottom line was they were coming up on the wrong side of things. DU turned things around as they turned a two point half time lead and expanded it behind 51% shooting which countered the Rams 54% because 12 offensive rebounds led the way to a decisive eleven more looks. Brett Olson was the offensive star with a game high 24 points and five assists with Chris Udofia adding 15 points and nine rebounds while Don Samac and Cam Griffin netted 12 and nine points with the latter grabbing eight boards.
I think Denver is better then they have shown while Wyoming has performed better then expected at both ends of the floor. This seems like a good spot for the home team but I'll take the points....
