The UConn Huskies and the Stanford Cardinal face off on Wednesday in college basketball action.
The UConn Huskies are unbeaten and ranked 10th in the nation and after not going to the NCAA Tournament last season for academic reasons they look to make their mark this year. UConn has only played at home or at a neutral site so far this year so we will find out how they handle the road later on this season. Shabazz Napier leads the Huskies averaging 15.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game. DeAndre Daniels is averaging 13.8 points, Ryan Boatright is averaging 12 points, and Niels Giffey is averaging 9.8 points. UConn is averaging 78.1 points and they are shooting 49.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 64.4 points and their opponents are shooting 38 percent. Connecticut has been bombs away hitting 46.5 percent from beyond the three-point arc.

The Stanford Cardinal are 7-2 on the season but haven’t played a ranked opponent. Stanford’s losses are to BYU and Pittsburgh and overall they have played the 147th ranked schedule. Chasson Randle is averaging 18.2 points per game to lead the Cardinal. Anthony Brown is averaging 16.3 points and 6.2 rebounds, Dwight Powell is averaging 15.1 points and 7.3 rebounds, and Josh Huestis is averaging 11.8 points and 7.7 rebounds. Stanford is averaging 81.9 points per game and they are shooting 50.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 71.8 points and their opponents shoot 41 percent from the floor. Stanford is shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the three-point arc.
UConn is 6-2 against the spread against the Pac-12, 6-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 4-0 against the spread after scoring 90 or more points their previous game. Stanford is 2-5 against the spread following a win, 1-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 16-7 against the spread on the road following three or more consecutive home games.
Both of these teams don't just throw up a lot of three-point shots, they connect on them so my free play is on the over. My stronger pick is on who will cover the srpead and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
