The Texas State Bobcats take the hardwood with the Utah Utes at Jon M. Huntsman Center.
Texas State has looked good on occasion but have really struggled on the road. That was the case in an 85-53 defeat at Texas as a 14 point dog. The Bobcats fell behind by eleven heading in to the locker room and never recovered. The Longhorns hit at 48% from the floor and the visitors checked in at under 30% with UT owning a 25-10 edge at the stripe as well. Joel Wright was the Bobcats lone double digit scorer with 19 points and 13 rebounds with Corey Stern adding nine points while three others tossed in seven points each.

Utah has been dynamite to kick off the season and I'm very interested if they can continue to play well especially when conference play begins. The Utes have had zero problem putting points on the scoreboard and might have played their best game last time out in an 81-64 rout of visiting Brigham Young. Utah led by 13 at the half with 41% shooting out distancing the Cougars 32.8% which was all that was needed because it added up to six more field goals. Jordan Loveridge was the offensive star with 21 points, five pulls and six helpers with a 16 point, six board and five assist performance coming from Delon Wright. Dallin Bachynski added eleven points and eight rebounds while Jeremy Olsen chipped in with nine points.
Utah has been very good and Texas State has struggled so I'm leaning home team. There is no guarantee with the big chalk but if the Utes don't have a let down from beating BYU I believe they are the best option...
