The Florida State Seminoles and the UMass Minutemen face off on Saturday in Sunrise in college basketball action.
The Florida State Seminoles have won back-to-back games and are coming off of their most impressive win of the season pounding Charlotte by 44 points. FSU has played the 145th ranked schedule in the nation and this is their second games against a team ranked n the top 25 as they lost to Florida a few weeks back. Ian Miller is averaging 14.9 points per game to lead the Noles in scoring. Okaro White is averaging 14.2 points and 7.1 rebounds, Aaron Thomas is averaging 11.8 points, and Montay Brandon is averaging 10 points and 5.4 rebounds. Florida State is averaging 79.7 points and they are shooting 50.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.8 points and their opponents are shooting 37.8 percent from the floor. Florida State starts ACC play on January 4th.

The UMass Minutemen are undefeated and ranked 20th in the nation and have played the 10th toughest schedule. UMass has silenced the critics and beaten all comers as they face another stiff test here. Chaz Williams is averaging 16.3 points and 7.8 assists to lead the Minutemen. Cady Lalanne is averaging 14.8 points and 9.6 rebounds, Sampson Carter is averaging 13 points, Raphiael Putney is averaging 12.3 points, and Derrick Gordon is averaging 10 points. UMass is averaging 83.9 points and they are shooting 49.2 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 72.1 points and their opponents shoot 41.1 percent. Massachusetts opens A-10 play on January 8th.
Florida State is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against the A-10, 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games, and 7-2 against the spread in their last nine neutral site games. UMass is 8-0 against the spread in their last eight non-conference games, 7-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 4-0 against the spread in their last four neutral site games.
