The USC Trojans head to the University of Dayton Arena where the Dayton Flyers await.
It wasn't all that long ago that USC needed to control the pace of a game and eat up clock and try to win a 62-60 type of game. However, the Trojans are much more of an offensive team in 2013-14 and perhaps needed the defense first squad to show up in a 71-70 loss to Long Beach State. The 49ers cruised to a 14 point lead after 20 minutes and then held of a late Southern Cal charge with both teams finishing at 44% from the floor with the Trojans staying alive with an 18-7 margin at the line. Pe'Shon Howard led the team with 19 points with Omar Oraby adding 17 points and ten boards while Nikola Jovanovic and Julian Jacobs tossed in 13 and 12 points.

Dayton is off to a very good start behind the ability to put the ball in the basket combining with a quality defense that does lack consistency at times. The Flyers are on a mission to crack the top 25 and are heading in the right direction after winning four of five. UD is coming in off of a 96-84 shootout with Iona in which they led by nine going in to the locker room before trading baskets with the Gaels in the second half. Dayton simply out shot the visitors 55%-51.7% which equated to five more field goals. Dyshawn Pierre paced the scoring parade with 22 points and 14 rebounds followed by Vee Sanford with 17 and Khari Price with 16. Jordan Sibert and Scoochie Smith rounded out the top contributors with nine points apiece as eleven players scored altogether.
Dayton is a solid team and can be a handful if they get the early lead because the momentum seems to snowball with this team. This is all about potential and nothing else...
