The Marist Red Foxes host the Penn Quakers at the McCann Fieldhouse in Sunday action.
Slow starts are nothing new for Penn basketball but the question is whether they can rebound from a 2-6 start. First things first, the Quakers need to get back in the win column following a 75-69 overtime loss to Wagner which was defeat number three in a row. Despite plenty of scoring both teams connected at 33% from the floor with the biggest difference coming at the foul line where the Seahawks held a 33-21 advantage. Fran Dougherty tossed in a team high 17 points and hauled in eleven rebounds with Tony Hicks adding 14 points followed by Darien Nelson-Henry and Miles Cartwright who combined for 20 points with the former grabbing seven boards.

Marist has endured struggles of their own to kick of the 2013-14 campaign with an 0-9 start before back to back victories which is hopefully signs of things to come. The Red Foxes looked impressive in a 69-51 rout of visiting Bucknell with a 16 point lead after 20 minutes that essentially ended this from a competitive stand point. The Red Foxes connected at nearly 46% from the floor which is red hot for them while the Bison were limited to a mere 29%which added up to 12 more field goals and was easily the deciding factor. Leading scorer Chavaughn Lewis netted 19 points, seven boards and five assists while Adam Kemp added 12 points and eight pulls followed by an eleven point, six yank effort from TJ Curry.
Both teams don't seem all that different from each other but Marist winning consecutive games and being at home could be a slight edge but the overall numbers are not pretty...
