The UNLV Rebels and the Mississippi State Bulldogs face off on Monday in Las Vegas in college basketball action.
The UNLV Rebels are having a rebuilding year but they won for the fourth time in a row defeating Santa Clara on Sunday. The Rebels got up by nine at the half and extended the lead from there winning easily against the over matched Broncos. Deville Smith came up big on Sunday scoring 21 points after averaging just 5.7 points for the season. Roscoe Smith scored 15 points and he leads UNLV averaging 12.8 points and 13.2 rebounds per game, Khem Birch added 14 points, and Jelan Kendrick added 13. For the season UNLV is averaging 74.1 points and they are shooting 45.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 63.9 points and their opponents are shooting 38.6 percent. UNLV looks for another strong performance as they hope to get their season turned around.

The Mississippi State Bulldogs won for the fourth time in a row upsetting South Florida on Sunday. Mississippi State is 9-2 for the season but overall they have had a pretty easy go of it when it comes to the schedule. Craig Sword leads the way for MSU as he is averaging 15 points per game. Fred Thomas had 14 points on Sunday and averages 8.3 for the season, Gavin Ware averages 10.6 points, and Colin Borchert averages 8.8 points and had 11 points on Sunday. Mississippi State is averaging 70.7 points and they are shooting 45.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 64.3 points and their opponents are shooting 42.7 percent. Mississippi State is looking for their third neutral site win in as many chances.
UNLV is 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven games, 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games, and 3-0-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Mississippi State is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven neutral site games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 1-4 against the spread following a win.
