The Hawaii Warriors take the floor with the Oregon State Beavers in the Diamond Head Classic.
After dropping the tournament opener to Akron in an offensive affair where over 150 points were scored, Oregon State out lasted George Mason 58-54 where points were at a premium. The Beavers connected at 44% from the floor with the Patriots hitting at 39% with the biggest difference coming at the stripe where OSU outscored George Mason 17-6. Roberto Nelson tossed in a game high 17 points on 3-10 shooting but was 10-10 at the line while Devon Collier added 15 points on 7-9 from the field. Daniel Gomis contributed five points and grabbed a team high eight rebounds but production of any kind was difficult to come by.

Hawaii dropped a heartbreaker to Boise State but rebounded nicely with 76-74 decision over Saint Mary's to hand the previously undefeated Gaels their second straight defeat. This one was all offense with SMC sinking shots ata 53% pace while the Warriors nailed half their looks and owned a decisive 22-12 advantage at the charity stripe. The Gaels did hit ten bombs but gave the ball away 16 times which sealed their fate. Christian Standhardinger tossed in a game high 22 points and hauled in nine rebounds while going 14-17 at the stripe followed by Isaac Fotu with 13 points with Brandon Spearman and Aaron Valdes netted 12 and ten points with Spearman snagging seven boards.
This should be a good match up that could be decided in the last minute which would be fitting for Hawaii who have played two games decided by three points. I'm leaning Hawaii but need to see the spread... (I can see a shootout here so I'd rather take the points although no real edge for the Beavers)
