The Washington Huskies and the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils face of on Friday in college basketball action.
The Washington Huskies have just two more games before starting Pac-12 play and thus far they haven’t passed too many of their stiffest tests. UW is coming off of a los to UConn, a game where they really had a chance to make a statement, but they are 0-2 against teams ranked in the top 25. C.J. Wilcox is averaging 20.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. Nigel Williams-Goss is averaging 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists, Andrew Andrews is averaging 12.1 points and 4.2 rebounds, and Perris Blackwell is averaging 12 points and 7.4 rebounds. As a team Washington is averaging 80 points and they are shooting 44.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 80.3 points and their opponents are shooting 49.8 percent. Washington is 5-2 so far at home this year but it looks like it could be a tough season on the horizon.

The Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils have played one of the tougher schedules in the nation but they have just three wins in their first 10 games. MVSU is 0-7 on the road this season and they don’t have a win over a team with a RPI better than 200. Anthony McDonald leads the Delta Devils averaging 15.3 points per game. DeAngelo Priar is averaging 12.6 points, James Currington is averaging 10.1 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, and Jordan Washington is averaging 9.6 points. Mississippi Valley State is averaging 77.2 points and they are shooting 43.7 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 87.4 points and their opponents shoot 52.9 percent. MVSU plays in the SWAC where not one team has a winning record thus far.
Washington is 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 non-conference games, 1-5 against the spread in their last six home games, and 0-5 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Mississippi Valley State is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games, 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games, and 0-4 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The number in this game makes it unplayable taking UW but given the alternative if I were to make a call I would have to go with the Huskies.
