The Colorado Buffaloes and the Georgia Bulldogs face off on Saturday in college basketball action.
The Colorado Buffaloes are ranked 21st in the nation and they are part of the reason the Pac-12 looks to be difficult this season. Colorado has played the 14th ranked schedule in the country and they are coming off of a loss to Oklahoma State. Spencer Dinwiddie is averaging 15.7 points and he is CU’s leading scorer. Josh Scott is averaging 13 points and 8.9 rebounds, Askia Booker is averaging 12.1 points, and Xavier Johnson is averaging 9.3 points and 6.0 rebounds. Colorado is averaging 76.9 points and they are shooting 45.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.4 points and their opponents are shooting 41.8 percent. Both of Colorado’s losses have come to teams ranked in the top 25.

The Georgia Bulldogs are off to a tough start to the season but they have won their last five games. UGA has played the 336th ranked schedule in the nation and they don’t have a win over a team with a RPI better than 150. Charles Mann is averaging 13.4 points per game to lead the Dawgs. Kenny Gaines is averaging 11.8 points, Nemanja Djurisic is averaging 11.3 points and 4.5 rebounds, Donte’ Williams is averaging 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds. Georgia is averaging 73.6 points ad they are shooting 48.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.8 points and their opponents shoot 39.4 percent. Georgia’s schedule becomes the 76th toughest by the time the season is over.
Colorado is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games, 6-0 against the spread in their last six games, and 1-4 against the spread against the SEC. Georgia is 9-0 against the spread in their last nine road games, 16-6 against the spread in their last 22 games overall, and 8-3 against the spread following a win. Georgia has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
I know Georgia has dominated versus the number in this series but Colorado is just so much the better team in this one.
