The Cleveland State Vikings will be on the road to face the Kent State Golden Flashes.
Cleveland State looks improved from a year ago but in all honesty I don't think we'll know if that's true or not until conference play begins. The Vikings could use some consistency in most areas although that wasn't an issue in an 89-42 rout of La Roche with the Vikings taking a 29 point lead at the half and never looking back. CSU flirted with 60% shooting and held the Redhawks to to 34% which was game over. Anton Grady poured in 19 points with Trey Lewis adding 17 while Bryn Forbes and Sebastian Douglas tossed in 16 and ten points with eleven players finding the scoring column.

Kent State looks like a team to watch in the MAC although a loss to Bucknell and a narrow victory over Charleston the last two times out were not very good performances. Good defense or poor shooting or a combination of both marked the Golden Flashes 58-54 decision over the Cougars. KSU never found the range with 33% marksmanship with CofC connecting at 40% but also giving the ball away 21 times. Kris Brewer saved the Kent State offense with a game high 20 points on 7-13 from the field with Darren Goodson tossing in ten followed by Devereaux Manley with an eight point effort. Points were at a premium outside of Brewer with only two players hitting at 50%.
Kent State has been winning but not by much which makes me leary because Cleveland State can be dangerous. Hopefully they win no matter how close this gets...
