The Holy Cross Crusaders battle the Michigan Wolverines in Saturday college basketball action.
We normally don't hear much about the Patriot League and teams like Holy Cross but this team has scoring ability although they are lacking at the defensive end. The offense did their thing and the defense came up big with a 74-55 victory over New Jersey Tech which ended a two game mini skid. The Highlanders were held to a mere 30% from the field which made the Crusaders 41% marksmanship golden. Malcolm Miller led all scores with 18 pointa and nine boards to go along with seven blocks while Eric Green added 15 points and five helpers while Dave Dudzinski tossed in 14 points and grabbed six rebounds.

A 7-4 record would be the envy of many teams but probably not for Michigan although a few defeats were nothing to be ashamed of. The bottom line is the Wolverines are loaded with talent and have the ability to beat anybody, anywhere. The team is looking to build off of a 68-65 decision over Stanford where the Cardinal held a 46%-40% shooting edge but Michigan won with an 8-4 edge on three pointers. Nik Staukas tossed in a game high 19 points on 4-11 from the floor with Glen Robinson III pumping in 17 points and snaring six boards followed by a 12 point, six yank performance from Zak Irwin but production outside this trio wasn't easy to come by.
This is a tough one because Holy Cross has a few solid performances while Michigan either wins big or loses close ones. I'm backing the Wolverines but something is telling me not to...
