The UNC Greensboro Spartans travel to Virginia Tech to play the Hokies on Saturday.
UNC Greensboro dropped to 6-7 on the year after losing to Wake Forest 59-51 last week. The Spartans shot only 31.7% from the field and a miserable 6% from behind the arc. UNCG also shot only 57% from the free throw line. The Spartans were barely outrebounded in the loss, 41-40, and forced the Demon Deacons into 14 turnovers. Kyle Cain had 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Kayel Locke added 14 points for the Spartans. On the year, Cain leads the team with 16 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Locke averages 11.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season. UNC Greensboro is averaging 73.5 points per game on 46% shooting from the field. The Spartans are an average rebounding team and have struggled on the road this season. UNC Greensboro is 0-3 on the road, with losses to Rutgers by 17, UNC by 31, and now Wake Forest by 8.

The Virginia Tech Hokies fell to 7-4 on the year after getting blown out by VCU 82-52 last week. The Hokies shot only 35% from the field, but shot 45% from long distance and only 50% from the charity stripe. Jarell Eddie scored 12 points to lead the Hokies, which had won four straight games. Virginia Tech finished with 27 turnovers that led to 42 points for VCU. On the year, Eddie leads the team with 18.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. Ben Emelogu is averaging 13.6 points per game, while C.J. Barksdale is pulling down 5.9 rebounds per game. The Hokies are averaging 75.3 points per game on 44.7% shooting from the field. Virginia Tech is not a great team when it comes to distributing the ball on offense, but they are a great rebounding team, pulling down 42 boards per game. This will be the Hokies ninth home game of the year; Virginia Tech is 7-1 at home this season.
The Hokies will be more than focused for this game after getting their butts kicked by VCU last week. This is just bad timing for UNCG as they will face an angry team in a hostile environment. I think Virginia Tech wins this game by 20.
