The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers and the Ole Miss Rebels face off on Monday in college basketball action.
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers have won four of their last five games as they gear up for Sun Belt Conference play. WKU has played the 210th ranked schedule in the country and are a perfect 7-0 at home this season. T.J. Price is averaging 16.3 points to lead the Hilltoppers in scoring. George Fant is averaging 14.2 points and 6.0 rebounds, Trency Jackson is averaging 13.8 points, and Aaron Adeoye is averaging 4.8 points and 5.0 rebounds. Western Kentucky is averaging 67.8 points and they are shooting 41.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 64.5 points and their opponents are shooting 43.6 percent. Two of Western Kentucky’s losses have come on the road and to teams ranked in the top 25 most recently at Louisville.

The Ole Miss Rebels were a NCAA Tournament team a season ago and they are hoping to get back again this season. Ole Miss has lost three of their last five games and while two of those were to Oregon and Kansas State last time out Mercer beat them at home. Marshall Henderson leads the Rebels averaging 18.7 points per game. Jarvis Summers is averaging 16.2 points, Derrick Millinghaus is averaging 11.5 points, and Demarco Cox is averaging 8.1 points and 6.5 rebounds. Ole Miss is averaging 79.8 points and they are shooting 43.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 70.8 points and their opponents are shooting 40.6 percent. Ole Miss has Dayton up next and then they open SEC play with Auburn.
Western Kentucky is 19-9 against the spread in their last 28 home games, 1-4 against the spread following a win, and 5-1 against the spread against a team with a winning percentage higher than .600. Ole Miss is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games, and 1-3-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
Ole Miss is coming of a loss to Mercer which doesn’t give me much confidence they can win here, let a lone cover on the road.
