The Duke Blue Devils improved to 10-2 on the year after blowing out Eastern Michigan 82-59 on Saturday. Duke shot 40% from the field and 34.5% from three-point range. Rodney Hood sat out after having to leave the court to throw up due to an illness. Andre Dawkins stepped in for Hood and scored a season-high 20 points. Jabari Parker scored a team-high 23 points, while Amile Jefferson pulled down a team high 14 rebounds. On the year, Parker leads the team with 22.2 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per contest. Hood is averaging 17.6 points per game, while Jefferson is pulling down 5.8 boards per game. The Blue Devils are averaging 85.2 points per game and 50.2% from the field as a team, which ranks 14th and 9th in the country this year. Duke is not a great rebounding team and they lack big bodies in the front court. This will be Duke’s 5th neutral site game; the Blue Devils are 2-2 on the season.
Duke is getting better with every game they play. The Blue Devils will need to improve in the front court offensively and rebounding by season’s end but those weaknesses won’t matter against Elon. Elon is efficient on offense but they will find it tough to score against Duke on Tuesday. I’m taking the Blue Devils to win big.
