The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Nebraska Cornhuskers face off on Tuesday in Big Ten college basketball action.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are looking the best they have in several years as they enter Big 10 play ranked 22nd in the nation. Iowa is 8-0 at home this season and they have played the 156th ranked schedule in the nation. Roy Devyn Marble leads the Hawkeyes as he is averaging 15.3 points per game. Aaron White is averaging 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, Jarrod Uthoff is averaging 10.8 points and 6.7 rebounds, and Zach McCabe is averaging 8.2 points. Iowa is averaging 88.7 points and they are shooting 47.7 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 65.5 points and their opponents are shooting 36.7 percent. Iowa has game at Wisconsin and Ohio State in the next two weeks.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have lost two of their last four games with both losses coming on the road and by wide margins. Nebraska has played the 118th ranked schedule in the country but haven’t beaten a team with a RPI better than 100. Terrence Petteway is 17.1 points and 4.7 rebounds to lead the Huskers. Shavon Shields is averaging 12.7 points and 5.5 rebounds, Ray Gallegos is averaging 8.7 points, and Walter Pitchford is averaging .4 points and 4.5 rebounds. Nebraska is averaging 72.2 points and they are shooting 4.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.6 points and their opponents are shooting 42.4 percent. Nebraska has yet to win on the road this season and they are 0-1 against teams ranked in the top 25.
Iowa is 6-0 against the spread against the Big Ten, 21-7 against the spread in their last 28 games, and 23-6 against the spread following a win. Nebraska is 13-2-1 against the spread following a loss, 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games, and 2-6 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
The line here makes for a lopsided game which I see as well especially given the Huskers recent performance at Cincinnati and Iowa looking to open their Big Ten schedule with a statement.
