The #17 Memphis Tigers head to the Sunshine State to do battle with the South Florida Bulls.
Since Memphis has cracked the top 25 the obvious goal now is to climb the rankings as far as possible which means not losing. The Tigers took care of business in an easy 75-61 decision over Jackson State as the made a 14 point half time lead stand up behind 45.6% shooting and a defense that held the Tigers to 41% from the floor. A 19-9 edge at the foul line sealed the deal in a sloppy affair that saw the teams combine for 39 turnovers. Michael Dixon Jr led a balanced attack with 14 points with Shaq Godwin netting 13 while David Pellom and and Joe Jackson scored 12 and eleven points respectively.

South Florida is off to a solid start and it seems as if the approach to this season is similar to a year ago which simply means keep the scoreboard manageable. The Bulls did just that in handing Bradley a 61-57 set back which ended a two game losing streak. USF connected at 49% from the floor and held the Braves to 42% with a 12-8 advantage at the charity stripe providing the final margin in a classic half court battle. Chris Perry was the offensive star with 18 points on 7-8 from the field with Victor Rudd next in line with 17 points and five pulls while Corey Allen Jr chipping in with eleven points and six assists with production difficult to find outside of this trio.
I don't think we can ignore South Florida if they can turn this in to a half court battle because they want to get in a track meet with Memphis. The problem is I think the Tigers can do well in the half court...
