The Charleston Cougars visit Belk Arena to face former conference rival the Davidson Wildcats.
Charleston was predicted to challenge in the Colonial but thus far it has been a bit of a rollercoaster with the team struggling to find the scoring touch. The defense has been fine and received plenty of scoring help in a 72-48 decision over the Citadel. The Cougars only hit at 38% but held the Bulldogs to a mere 30% and turned 26 personals in to a 19-7 advantage at the line. Willis Hall tossed in a game high 18 points and hauled in 13 rebounds with Anthony Stitt adding 14 points and seven boards. Nori Johnson was next in line with 12 points followed by an eleven point, eight pull effort from Adjehi Baru.

Something is amiss for Davidson as they certainly don't look anything like the team that is supposed to capture the SoCon and the proof is in their defense that is struggling to get stops. The Wildcats fell to Wichita State 80-71 for loss number four in a row in a competitive contest where both teams sank shots at around 43%. Davidson hung tough with eleven bombs but the Shockers won it with a 28-11 advantage at the foul line. Tyler Kalinoski paced the attack with a 17 point, six pull and five assist effort followed by Tom Droney and his 12 points and five yanks while the duo of De'Mon Brooks and Jake Belford chipped in with ten points each with Brooks grabbing another seven rebounds.
I try to compare these teams and things simply don't add up because Davidson should be better then they've shown. I'm going with them and if I see another poor effort I will rethink this team...
