The Pacific Tigers head to the Chiles Center to face the Portland Pilots in West Coast action.
Pacific has a very strong offensive squad which isn't a bad thing to have in the West Coast where several teams can light up the scoreboard. Defense might be the issue however as it was in an 88-80 loss to Saint Mary's who had been struggling. The Tigers connected at a not too shabby 47% from the floor but the Gaels 52% accuracy and 13-26 mark from long range carried the day. Andrew Bock paced a trio of DD scorers with 23 points followed by a 17 point effort from Sama Taku with Ross Rivera adding ten while TJ Wallace and Khalil Kelley contributed eight points each.

Portland is another squad with a big time offense that is averaging 80 points per contest. The defense allows 72 which is partially to blame on the fast pace at which this team plays. The scoring wasn't up to their normal standards in a 76-68 loss to Santa Clara where both teams sank shots in the 40%-43% range. The main difference was the Broncos held a 12-2 advantage in three pointers. Thomas van der Mars was the Pilots offensive star with 23 points and seven boards on 10-15 accuracy with Kevin Bailey netting 19 points with six yanks while Ryan Nicholas tossed in 13 points and hauled down 13 rebounds. The issue was finding production elsewhere with the rest of the team scoring ten points.
I think these teams have more in common then different so I'm thinking the points in a high scoring affair might be the way to go...
