The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles open conference play at the Gentry Complex versus the Tennessee State Tigers.
Sometimes Tennessee Tech has looked improved over last year and sometimes not as they have won when supposed to and lost when supposed to. Having said that the Golden Eagles dropped a 75-66 decision at Utah Valley whom they had beaten at home. A 16 point hole at the half was too much to over come with the Wolverines hitting at 54% while the 47% shooting Golden Eagles were owned at the line by a 25-8 count. Dwan Caldwell led four DD scorers with 17 points with Jeremiah Samarrippas and Dennis Ogbe with 13 each while Ty Allen chipped in with ten.

The only way to put Tennessee State's 1-13 start in perspective is this is what happens when graduation wipes out the talent base. The Tigers are obviously in need of help in all areas with their only victory coming against sub division Fisk. The Tigers had plenty of opportunities to get their second win last time out but fell 70-69 at Eastern Illinois despite out shooting the Panthers 44%-39%. EIU won because 14 offensive rebounds helped them to 14 more looks and a few more field goals. Leading scorer Patrick Miller tried to carry the Tigers with a 30 point effort with Jacquan Nobles tossing in 14 followed by MJ Rhett with ten points and eight rebounds.
This is not the most inviting match up of the night and it's best left alone because there is no edge to exploit...
