TV: Pac-12

The Arizona Wildcats and the Washington Huskies face off on Saturday in a Pac-12 college basketball battle.

The Arizona Wildcats are ranked number one in the nation and they opened their Pac-12 schedule with a convincing win over Washington State beating the Cougars by 35 points. Arizona has played two games against ranked teams and they have played the 75th overall ranked schedule. Nick Johnson leads the Wildcats averaging 15.4 points per game. Brandon Ashley is averaging 12.1 points and 7.1 rebounds, Aaron Gordon is averaging 12.0 points and 7.8 rebounds, and Kaleb Tarczewski is averaging 10.2 points and 6.4 rebounds. Arizona is averaging 75.1 points and they sre shooting 49 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 54.4 points and their opponents are shooting 36.2 percent. Arizona is definitely going to be a force over the long haul this season.

Casey Sapio-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Huskies struggled earlier this season but they showed no signs of vulnerability in their Pac-12 opener thrashing Arizona State by 11 points on the road. UW has played the 190th ranked schedule and are 2-1 on the road but they are 0-2 against ranked teams. C.J. WIlcox leads the Huskies averaging 20.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Andrew Andrews is averaging 13.1 points and 4.1 rebounds, Nigel Williams-Goss is averaging 12.6 points, and Perris Blackwell is averaging 11.8 points and 7.3 rebounds. Washington is averaging 80.3 points and they are shooting 45.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 78.2 points and their opponents are shooting 48.8 percent. Washington appears to be improving and may surprise some more teams along the way.

Arizona is 14-3 against the spread in their last 17 home games, 13-3 against the spread in their last 16 games, and 8-2 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. Washington is 2-7 against the spread following a game that they covered the spread, 5-2 against the spread in their last seven Saturday games, and 13-6 against the spread against a team with a winning percentage higher than .600. The home team has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.

This is a gigantic number and it comes from just how good the Cats were on Thursday but I don’t see it being that big of a win, I see it being much closer.
