The San Diego Toreros head to the Marriot Center to face the Brigham Young Cougars.
San Diego has been able to put points on the scoreboard most of the early going but the offense has failed them in back to back defeats. A 65-62 loss to Loyola Marymount was a solid effort against a surging Lions club with both teams sinking shots at 46%. The Toreros hit 10-21 from long range but came up short at the line by an 11-4 count which turned out to be the key. Johnny Dee continued to fill the basket with a game high 28 points with Duda Sanazde checking in with 18 points and nine rebounds followed by an eight point, seven pull effort from Dennis Kramer.

Brigham Young might not be the team we have been accustomed to seeing the last several years but the ability to light up the scoreboard is the one area that has not changed with the #5 offense averaging 87 points. The Cougars have scored the basketball despite four defeats in a row following an 80-74 loss at Pepperdine as a 12 point half time hole was too big to over come. The decisive number was the Waves 13-1 edge from beyond the arc and their five DD scorers. Tyler Haws paced the attack with 20 points and six pulls while Kyle Collinsworth and Skyler Halford tossed in eleven points each with Collinsworth grabbing 13 boards and handing out seven assists followed by Eric Mika with ten.
These teams have played rather close to the vest the past few years and with San Diego looking a bit better I'd rather take my chances with the points...
