The Houston Cougars head to the Sunshine State to square off with the South Florida Bulls.
It's too early to determine where Houston fits in the AAC with plenty of talented squads but based on their 75-71 decision over Connecticut they could be a team to keep an eye on. This was a tale of two half's with the Cougars up by 18 at the half before a near second half collapse. UH nailed almost half their shots including 7-14 from beyond the arc to squeeze by the 41% shooting Huskies. TaShawn paced the Houston offense with 23 points and eight rebounds with Jherrod Stiggers tossing in 17 followed by a 13 point, nine board performance from Danrad Knowles.

South Florida has been a better scoring team then we have seen the past few seasons which is why they are off to a nice 9-5 start. However the Bulls might have lost some of their ealy season momentum by dropping three of four following an 88-73 loss to visiting Memphis where the defense struggled. USF had problems at both ends of the floor over the first 20 minutes where the Tigers led by 16 and never gave it up. The Bulls 42% accuracy didn't stand up to the Tigers 52% marksmanship despite four double digit scorers. John Egbunu tossed in 20 points and hauled in 14 rebounds with Victor Rudd netting 17 points and grabbing nine boards. Corey Allen Jr netted 15 points while Martino Brock chipped in with 13 to round out the top producers.
South Florida has a tendency to play things close and I'm thinking why not here. That is if Houston didn't use up all they had against UConn...
