The St Bonaventure Bonnies welcome the Cornell Big Red to the Reilly Center in Saturday afternoon action.
There really isn't much I can say about Cornell as their 0-12 record does all the talking and it says more scoring and much more defense. The Big Red played their best defensive game of the season in a 67-59 loss at Saint Peter's in which the offense struggled to put up points on 40% shooting. The Peacocks were held to just 36.7% but secured the win with 14 forced turnovers and a 27-7 edge at the foul line. The Big Red offense was really a two man show with Devin Cherry and Nolan Cressler pouring in 21 points each with Cherry snagging seven rebounds but also committing nine turnovers. However, no other player mustered more then three points.

St Bonaventure is off to one of their best starts in recent memory with plenty of points being scored along with an adequate defense. However it was the offense that was the leader in an 80-73 victory over visiting Delaware as they led by 12 at the break and held off a second half Blue Hen rally. The Bonnies took advantage of a porous UD defense to fire away at 52% while the Hens were limited to 38% which translated in to six more field goals. Matthew Wright paced the St Bonaventure scoring with 23 points and five boards with Youssou Ndoye netting 15 points, six pulls and six blocks while four others combined to score between 8-9 points with the entire eight man rotation scoring.
This one could go either way as far as the cover is concerned because St Bonaventure might go through the motions and Cornell might play a good game so this could be won or lost in the final minutes...
