The Kent State Golden Flashes welcome the Ohio Bobcats to town to kick off the MAC slate.
Ohio has been busy building a bit of momentum heading in to conference play with three consecutive victories. Both ends of the floor have contributed to the early season success with the offense doing most of the damage in a 79-70 decision over North Carolina-Asheville. The Bobcats rallied from a 12 point half time deficit behind 45% accuracy which far out distanced the Bulldogs 32% mark. Maurice Ndour was the Bobcats offensive star with 24 points and ten rebounds followed by 23 points and nine boards from Nick Kellogg while TJ Hall netted 12 points and snagged five pulls.

The body of work that Kent State has built revolves around pretty good scoring and a defense that has been just good enough. However the Golden Flashes have stumbled in to the start of conference action with defeats in three of four after dropping a 73-68 decision at Princeton. It was still a quality performance with Kent State rallying from a 12 point hole to take a late lead only to fall short. Neither squad found the shooting touch with both hitting at less then 40% but the decisive number was the Tigers 29-14 edge at the stripe. The Golden Flashes received 17 points from Devareaux Manley with Kris Brewer and Derek Jackson tossing in 15 and 12 points with a combined eleven rebounds.
I believe both teams are capable of winning the conference so this should be a great game to kick off league play. You could argue for either team in this coin flip with no real edge...
