The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles visit the North Texas Mean Green in CUSA action.
Southern Mississippi appears to be one of the teams to keep an eye on in the CUSA as their ability to score and defend is one of the best combinations in the conference. The Golden Eagles have won four in a row following a 66-49 rout of a decent Drexel squad where bothe ends of the floor came up big once again. The defense was front and center with the O hitting just 35% from the floor with the only difference being a 24-5 edge at the line. Aaron Brown led the scoring with eleven points while the trio of Jerrold Brooks, Jeremiah Eason and Michael Craig netting ten points each.

North Texas is looking for a big first season in the CUSA and if that is to come about the offense has to keep putting up the points because the defense allows plenty. The Mean Green are riding a four game winning streak after out scoring UC Irvine 76-72 to improve to 9-5. The boxscore was almost dead even and as it usually works the foul line was the difference with UNT sinking six more. Brandan Walton paced the North Texas attack with 14 points on 5-6 from the floor including four bombs with Maurice Aniefork adding 13 points and six yanks followed by Alzee Williams and Chris Jones netting nine points apiece. Overall eleven players saw the floor and ten scored.
Southern Miss is a pretty good team and North Texas can be tough but I'm simply going with my potential to cover theory...
