The surging Virginia Commonwealth Rams host the George Mason Patriots on Thursday.
If George Mason is to make some noise in the A-10 they will need a boost at the offensive end because there are too many quality teams to deal with if you struggle to score. Both ends of the floor had some issues in a 71-66 loss to Old Dominion as they never recovered from an eleven point first half hole. There wasn't much that separated these two except a few more free throws and an extra three. Sherrod Wright tried to carry the team with 25 points with Bryon Allen adding 18 points and five yanks while Patrick Holloway chipped in with ten.

Except for a few bumps in the road Virginia Commonwealth has been a solid team when that pressure defense leads to points. The Rams have won eight of ten with seven coming by double figures with that trend continuing in an 81-63 decision over Stony Brook. VCU held SB to 41% from the floor and forced 20 turnovers while 47% marksmanship with large advantages from distance and at the charity stripe doing plenty of damage. Treveon Graham led all scorers with 20 points and seven walks with Briante Weber posting 14 points and nine boards. Melvin Johnson tossed in 12 points followed Juvonte Reddic and Rob Brandenberg scoring eleven each.
George Mason has their hands full if VCU continues their hot run. The question is will they because I don't feel like laying the big chalk but I'll back them for a pick...
