The George Mason Patriots shoot for their second conference win versus the Saint Joseph's Hawks.
On any given day you can see Saint Joseph's score a lot or defend well as they are capable at both ends of the floor and did both during a five game winning streak. However the offense struggled in a 66-62 loss to nationally ranked Massachusetts on the road despite almost 49% from the floor. A 10-17 effort at the line and 17 turnovers might have given away a winnable game a squandered a great defensive stand against a solid scoring team. Halil Kanacevic led the attack with 19 points, 13 boards and six assists with Langston Galloway adding 18 points and five pulls followed by a 16 point, eight rebound effort from DeAndre Bembry.

The first thing we notice when going over the numbers George Mason has produced is that the offense struggles to score consistently which puts pressure on the defensive end of the floor which. Things worked out just fine for a half versus Virginia Commonwealth before 23 points over the final 20 minutes sent the Patriots to a 71-57 defeat. The Rams connected at only 34% from the field but GM failed to take advantage with 17 giveaways and 37% shooting with a 28-9 deficit at the line being the nail in the coffin. Bryon Allen led a trio of DD scorers with 13 points while Patrick Holloway tossed in eleven points followed by a ten point, 12 rebound performance from Jalen Jenkins.
Total coin flip in my view with St Joes needing to bounce back from the disappointment at UMass. I don't know if they do but they look like the better squad...
