The Ball State Cardinals visit the Kent State Golden Flashes with both teams looking for their first MAC win.
There are times when Ball State has looked awful and there are times when they have played so well you wonder how their record is only 3-9. It was more of the latter in 72-68 loss to visiting Akron in the conference opener for both schools where 37.5% from the floor and 15 turnovers gave the 40% shooting Zips 14 more looks at the basket which determined the out come. The Cardinals offense received 18 points and and seven boards from Chris Bond with Majok Majok netting 16 points and snagging 13 rebounds followed Jesse Berry and Mark Alstork with 13 and ten points.

Kent State is supposed to be a factor in the MAC although the last few weeks have left questions to be answered. The Golden Flashes dropped their MAC opener by a 59-53 count which saw their skid reach three while losing three of four overall. The Golden Flashes were never able to cut in to a seven point deficit at the half as their 28% marksmanship made the Bobcats 39% shooting look hot. Production was difficult to come by with Devereaux Manley leading the team with 13 points despite 2-10 from the floor while Mark Henniger tossed in 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds on 5-8 shooting. Kris Brewer and Khaliq Spicer were next highest with six points apiece with Brewer pulling in six boards and handing out seven assists.
If Kent State doesn't find the shooting touch and score some points they might not even win this. I'm backing the Golden Flashes but putting money on a team in a scoring slump? No thanks...
