The #15 San Diego State Aztecs invade Clune Arena to take the floor with the Air Force Falcons.
If defense is the key to winning then San Diego State is living proof of that theory because they are doing a lot of winning. Their suffocating second ranked defense is allowing less then 55 points and was the main reason for a 69-66 decision over high scoring Boise State. The potent attack of the Broncos connected at 43% which matched the Aztecs in the shooting department with a 21-14 edge at the line being the difference. The offense was led by 16 points apiece from Winston Shepard and Xavier Thames while Aqeel Quinn and Josh Davis combined for 17 points with Davis hauling in ten rebounds.

Air Force hasn't always been a big scoring team but they are doing a pretty good job at scoring the basketball with their defense being the issue with the team outscoring opponents 73-70. Neither end of the floor stood out in a 71-65 loss at Fresno State with the Bulldogs leading out by eleven heading in to the locker room. Both teams hit in the low 40% range with the Bulldogs sinking a few more threes and seven more free throws to get the win. Tre Collins paced the offense with 21 points with Max Yon tossing in 20 while the twosome of Kamryn Williams and Justin Hammonds netted 12 and ten points with seven boards each.
If Air Force plays as they have the last three times out then a cover is possible and if they fall behind they have no chance. I'm taking the points but that's going out on a limb...
